A wonderful silky-smooth mead made with Hawaiian Lehua blossom honey and vanilla beans.
The last rays of the sun have dipped below the ocean horizon, leaving a deep blue twilight sky, the stars just starting to wink into view. The warm sand seems to almost glow in the bright moonlight, while flames from the bonfire in front of you throw flickering golden highlights onto the warm sand you sit on with your friends. The laughter and chatter almost drowns out the cheerful strands of a song being strummed on a ukulele. The air is scented with the flowers of the leis hanging around everyone’s necks and the sweet tropical fruits sitting cut and ready to eat on a tray near you. You spy pineapple, papaya and oranges, glowing like gold in the firelight.
You join a few of your friends who have begun roasting marshmallows around the fire. As your marshmallow toasts, you can’t resist swiping a piece of pineapple off your friend’s plate. The fruit is so ripe, golden and perfect that juice runs down your chin as you bite into it. Your marshmallow, now also golden and perfect, is done. As you take a bite, you marvel in wonder at the combination of sweet vanilla from your marshmallow with the sharp tanginess of the pineapple. “Hey guys,” you shout, “you’ve got to try this!”
